Eleven
election related incidents have reported since morning including
several cases of assault and two attempts to impersonate votes in
Mulaithivu District. Police Spokesman SSP P M H B Siriwardena said two persons who tried to impersonate the vote were arrested in a polling booth in Mulliyaweli in Mulaithivu district.
Nine persons who were engaged in distributing propaganda leaflets were also taken into custody in Puttalam district.
Also three persons sustained injuries when they were stampede in a rush following a group firing in the air in Kelebokka polling booth in Panvila in Kandy district.
Also several incidents of assault had been reported in Central and North Western provinces.
