Derailment in Fort Railway Station

A Maradana bound train from Aluthgama derailed at the Fort Railway Station this morning causing a blockade on the inbound track of the southern railway line.
The locomotive of the in coming train had been derailed due to a fault in the tracks around 10.00am, Railway Control Room said.
Clearing work is currently underway and both inbound and outbound trains are operated on the outbound track.
However a congestion is expected in the latter part of the day when number of trains are to operate to carry the returning office staffs.
